A word about skin care products: there are literally hundreds of different products on the market today. Of course, each one claims to be superior. Since most of the information about products comes via the lay media, usually through advertising materials, it is often tainted with commercial bias. As such, it is very confusing and nearly impossible for patients to separate “fact from hype.” It has been our mission both to examine and to understand the majority of these products and medications so we can always recommend the very best ones to you. It is important for patients to understand that we have no particular affiliation with any product, manufacturer or distributor. This makes us completely independent. For example, when we reviewed all of the available topical antioxidants on the market, we picked the specific products we felt were the best, regardless of the brand or manufacturer. This has always been our philosophy, and we sincerely believe in all the products we recommend to you.
There will always be so-called “latest and the greatest” products, typically available on TV or in exclusive department stores, that lay claim to extraordinary results and are very expensive. Please remember that none of these products is as potent as the prescription strength products we dispense, and that you are primarily paying for a brand name and fancy packaging. Further, remember that our program has a track record of success dating back many years. Our program is not a “flash in the pan.” If a product, treatment or surgical procedure sounds just too incredibly good to be true, most likely it is not true. There are many products that boast unrealistic claims of success; do not be misled.
