CORRECTIVE SURGERY

INTRODUCTION

The overwhelming majority of women who undergo breast augmentation surgery do extremely well after surgery and enjoy the benefits of the surgery for many years.

However there are circumstances where women who have previously had breast augmentation surgery have issues that require additional corrective breast surgery. Examples include:

  1. Implants that are very old and need to be updated [for example, implants over 15-20 years old],
  2. a failed implant [broken for any reason],
  3. a desire to change the implant size [smaller to larger, or vice versa],
  4. a desire to change the implant type [saline to silicone, or vice versa],
  5. correction of some complication [scar tissue accumulation around the implant, malposition of an implant making the breast appear uneven, infection, etc.]
  6. a desire to have the implants removed for any reason

We perform all aspects of implant-related corrective breast surgery. We will need to review the medical records of the doctor who performed your last breast surgery. Plastic surgeons usually take before and after photographs of surgery patients and it would be very beneficial to request copies of your photographs as well. Please bring these materials with you to your consultation appointment.
